How Our Products Are Made
At Protella, our products are crafted the traditional way in our own facility, the Panacella Factory, located in Vilafranca del Penedès, Spain. All our items are packaged at a Special Employment Centre, where we proudly collaborate to support and empower individuals with disabilities.
The Panacella Factory specialises in artisanal chocolate production in all its delicious forms, spreadable creams, snacks, toppings, and more. Our mission goes beyond taste. We create healthy, indulgent products designed to awaken emotions and bring joy to every bite.
How Protella® Started
Founded in 2017, Protella® was born out of a need for chocolate products made sustainably and aligned with healthy living. After extensive research with one of Spain’s top maître chocolatiers, we developed a unique line of products that blend gourmet flavour with nutritional integrity.
What We Stand For

We proudly exclude palm oil from all our products.
According to the WWF: “Palm oil continues to be one of the leading drivers of deforestation, threatening species like the orangutan and Sumatran rhinoceros. The environmental impact, coupled with greenhouse gas emissions and labor exploitation, makes it a major sustainability issue.”
We believe it doesn’t have to be this way, and we’ve chosen a different path.

We never use added sugars in our recipes.
